AOSG hosts courses in Hostile Environment Awareness Training (H.E.A.T) specifically tailored to meet the needs of Individuals, Corporate Travellers, Government and Non Government Organisations (NGO's), humanitarian relief workers, journalists and security operators travelling to high risk countries and conflict zones. Organisations have a duty of care to ensure the safety and welfare of their employees and now there is no longer a  need to travel outside Australia to attend first rate H.E.A.T courses. Our courses are run by accomplished executive protection specialists and paramedic trainers with years of experience protecting NGO personnel, aid workers and Australian government employees operating out of conflict zones and providing training in first aid and trauma management to large government and private organisations. Our courses will better prepare you for your next trip or deployment overseas and are an invaluable safety learning resource to supplement your travel preparations.

Travel Safety Awareness

What can I expect to learn and experience on this course?

Each course may be slightly different because we tailor our courses to our client's particular needs; however there are elements common to most courses.

These elements are:

  • Travel safe - trip preparations

  • Accommodation - counter surveillance, search techniques and maintaining security

  • Know your environment - politics, religions, and up to date travel warnings

  • Working with government and contracted security personnel

  • Situational awareness and risk management

  • Basic self defence and personal security

  • Driver training

  • Advanced first aid and trauma training

  • Hostage and rescue scenarios

  • Weapons familiarisation and exposure

  • Communication equipment exposure

Our experienced trainers still maintain currency in their skills by continuing to operate within hostile environments and conflict zones. Because of the specific nature of our courses and our individual client needs, our courses are run by appointment only and can be as short as three days of training or as long as four weeks depending on what you require.
